Grad Class

I have the type of personality that could drive someone crazy. I don’t enjoy settling or just going with the flow of the situation I am currently in. I am always thinking about the next thing I could be doing.

Now, don’t get me wrong I am not an OVERACHIEVER. I honestly do not work that way; however when I reached the year out of college mark in my head I was ready to move onto something new.

I have been out of college for a year and a half this month and it has been quite a journey! I landed a job right out of school and have been fortunate enough to already receive a promotion. I was ready for the next step.

In January I began my first graduate course to see exactly what it is I am hoping to do for the rest of my life. I have had a passion for working with people for as long as I can remember, but that is extremely broad. Although people have always made suggestions about what they could see me doing, I felt as though I needed to get my feet wet before I decided!

Many people have said, “I still don’t know what I want to be and I am much older than you”. I am aware that your mind can change and your interests may vary, but based on the experiences I have had in my own life with health care I started down that path.

The class I enrolled in was Community Health and Environment. It remained extremely interesting and informative on many different topics throughout the semester.

I have learned a great deal of information about my own passion for learning more about the world of public health and I am more than excited to continue pursuing my goals.
